Mozilla has discovered a vulnerability in Firefox, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or to compromise your computer.

The vulnerability is in version 1.0.6, and versions prior to 1.0.6, and version 1.5 Beta 1.

If you are running 1.0.6 you should update to 1.0.7 by going to http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

i've noticed my crashes usually happen with a flash site. it would crash all the time on espn.com and then once i updated it, then it worked fine. but tonight it crashed on another site, so i'm not really sure, all i know is i check for an update weekly.

Haven't noticed much problems with 1.06 (using 1.07) though occasionally I get asked if I want to create another user because the default on is in use ?? Find this a bit suspicious !! Had deleted the default user once and almost had a heart attack since it seemed like I lost all my bookmarks (Remember to back them up !!!!!) But I found them... phew. Backed them up in 4 different places lol.

Found this, and it works a treat for me.....

How to Make Firefox Load Pages Faster
Firefox is cool, and it can be tweaked to load broadband pages extra fast. Here's how.
Steps
1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
2. network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
3. Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
4. Alter the entries as follows:
5. Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
6. Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
7. Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. [The default value for this setting is 4]
8. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.
9. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!

Wish I could get broadband. My download speed is 14.3kbs on a good day. They plan on upgrading the exchange. If it ever happens I will be able to get 128kbs. Woohoo.... porn superhighway.

i have broadband/dsl.

ok, was wondering if it was 256 / 512 / 1500 etc...

Had noticed a friends cable always had fast page loads. Though mine seemed to lag, an I had a feeling it was cause of the high bandwidth cable has, I found with the fix mine seems bout the same now, i got 512k. Not sure what the effect would be for 256 / 1500 an up.

Glad its working for people....

Ehh it's not bad there are ALOT of factors that go into your actual speeds, including alot of your own computer settings.

it seems faster to me now that i've been able to go to more and more sites rather then just testing it out on the one or two i had opened when i did the trick.
