.z files

Anybody knows which splitting program is used when the results are
z01, z02, ... files. There's also a zip file needed, and if you put them all in one directory, unzio the ,zip one you get the whole vid. Just wondering which program it is, works fine for vids, it's used for this one:

Winzip also splits archive's as well as winrar. It's files end in .z01 through however many parts there are. Same idea for opening as winrar though same folder and unzip.
