you need to edit the hostf.xml file
on the mac it is located in
users\{username}\Library\Application Support\Firefox\Profiles\{profilename}\extensions\ {extensionguid}
I've started a post for folks to post their custom host file definitions.
If you post the sites your trying to load along with a sample page url and sample image url maybe someone will post a definition
