some image venue pics that aren't working you have to remove amp; in the address

for example

http://img13.imagevenue.com/img.php?loc=loc28&image=345_dcp0025.jpg

should be

http://img13.imagevenue.com/img.php?loc=loc28&image=345_dcp0025.jpg

hopefully be able to do a whole board find and replace for all old pics, but am unsure at present.

i hope you can do a total board find and replace. because doing them manually would take forever.

would copying the code into word and doing search and replace there work?

I assume its mySQl based, so some simple SQL run against the DB should sort it

simplest thing i've been doing to fix ones i want to see is copy and paste the whole thing in word.

then go to replace and type in "amp;image" and then replace with the word "image". don't use the qoutes though. and then copy make sure you've replaced all and then select all then copy and paste back in the original thread.

Please post addy's of pages with dead thumbnails and I'll fix. Been working on it now for a while...

i think it's every thread that has pictures in it that was dated 7/16 or before. i haven't seen any page dating before that using imagevenue that works now. but i've been updating the ones i've made by copying the code into word and replacing.

Mort

ButtMan
25th July 2005, 12:47 AM
Yea, I just discovered that all my posts, before the switch, have the amp; in them..
Should only take me a month or so to fix them all :oO

ButtMan
25th July 2005, 12:50 AM
Hey Steve, go to your old posts with Imagevenue pics in them...Click on the thumbs..
They don't show buddy...You need to take the amp; out of the codes in edit.
Or use a quicker method as mentioned in the thread.

Steve
25th July 2005, 12:56 AM
yeah, but I think reposting would be hell better :D

Actually, I think it's the amp; that we don't want..

Steve

yeah but I think it is similar...

vB is written in XML to be standards compliant so it automaticlly puts an amp after all & in a url that is posted. When the database was converted it seen the links as a url and added it afterwards. Think thats the correct description?

Spike Spiegel

actually i've found that in every post before the 16th, whether it was a link or not, had the amp; after every ampresand. eg, in the ashanti thread Phil said that she was an r&b singer but it ended up like this, r&b singer. all image high's still work, they don't use ampresand in the links, but all others that i saw (imagevenue, *********, glowfoto, and i believe imageshack)had an ampresand in it. and glowfoto had 4 per link, that woulda been a bitch to do by hand. and i didn't use the busy uploader tool more than twice cuz well it's limit is 100 pics and the second time it left the amp; in the code sooo... yeah.
