Direct Connect ++ is always good, the one I've used most.
Relatively recently I've started to use torrents a whole lot as well but DC++ is still my favourite.
DC++ does however require a share to begin with if you want to get in to some of the best hubs.

i live in the U.K and as yet ive got n problems with downloading. Im more concerned with hidden extras (such as spyware). Win MX was ok but i found it slow. anyone else have this problem. im using 2mb broadband.

Im using 2mb broadband with NTL and combined it with a bandwidth accelerator to get its max capacity to download and still i find win mx very slow to download...but it is still very safe and reliable...unlike kazaa - but does have its advantages becuse theres more users, hence more kb/s to download from!
I've got them both and find each very useful in their own way; Win mx is great for small files such as jpeg's and small music files...but if you want speed then go for kazza..i can download a 4mb song in under 10 seconds!... :D

I like using good 'ol MIRC. Using www.packetnews.com you can search for whatever you want (i.e. movie, music album, tv show, program) and it shows a list of all MIRC rooms carrying that file. Piece of cake. I don't think there's much interest yet by the US government in this, because you don't share back, you're only grabbing the file. (At least I've never heard of any investigations into it)
Or I use Ares. Good P2P, similar to Kazaa. And again, I don't think there's much media/government attention on it right now.

Yeah Kazaa is the motherload of spyware.
I'll be sticking with DC++, Bitcomet and Emule.

I've tried them all and found http://www.shareaza.com/ to be the best it connects to gnutteral 1 and 2 servers plus takes care of your bittorent requests too, it's fucken fantastic!
Greenday, what sorts of prices are the UK doing now for broadband? when i was there a few years ago (arrived march 2002) it was damn expensive. at that point more houses in britain had dishwashers and only 1 in 6 houses had dishwashers, it's about time britain took to the internet and the computer revolution. it was of course a shock to come from a town that had 1.3 computers to every house.
when i got there FHM were saying if you're in computers you're a Geek. By the time i left, March 2004, they were saying that computers were cool and you should all have one. LOL.

yep i use Shareaza too, its really good u can use edonkey servers as well as G1 and G2 servers, so you get lots of choices and pretty good speeds, i used to use it all the time but now not as much about a year ago i really got into using Torrents more than anything, they're super fast, reliable and if uve got a few pretty good sites, then u can find anything, the torrent program i use is www.bitcomet.com and here are a few good torrent sites:
www.torrentleech.org - Great Sites, Constantly getting the newest Stuff, only one AD no popups, only thing u have to do is sign up, and its free for a regular membership.
www.torrenspy.com - No Sign up required, HUGE selection of torrents, New stuff and Old Stuff, no sign up if u dont want 2, not any popups that i no of.
www.s3.isohunt.com - Ok this site is best if u no exactly what ur looking for, no sign up, theres a couple of ads but i dont think there are any popups, its just a search of torrents, they usually have a pretty good selection.
Tips:
1. When looking for torrents always pick the torrent with the most seeds, these are people who have fully completed the download and are still sharing.
2. To help your download speed go faster, restrict your upload speed to about 20kb, by right clicking the download and going to properties->Advanced-> check mark Enable Task Specifi Settings and set the lower of the two boxes to 20kb.
3. Remember to share! Always remember to keep your download open for a little while longer after you've finished to help other people get it, thats what its all about, if no one shared, no one would get anything, and some sites that u sign up for (torrentleech) you have to keep you download/upload ratio adleast a 0.5 this means u have to let people upload adleast half as much as you have downloaded, but trust me its worth it for the quality and amount of stuff you get.
Well this has been my whole thing on torrents, hope it helps you guys, PM me with any questions.

I'd have to agree with LimeWire. It's never had any problems from me, just depends on what you're searching for I suppose. Plus it's always had great d/l speeds.
