leeching is when some cumstain copies and paste your post into another forum and then takes credit for your work.

Just curious on this aspect and your thoughts:
All of us are constantly finding a bunch of stuff on other sites. Some from forums, some from actual websites of that material. What is the view of grabbing a set or movie from somewhere else and posting it here? Not right away of course, nor copying and pasting like these other cheap bastards do. I'm talking like, time has passed before reposting(notice I stated "re"). Unless it's something really extreme and needs to be posted. I myself, would look at as if you're going to upload it elsewhere, actually do the f*ckin' work. Upload it, rehost it, whatever. Or contact the original poster and ask for permission to share it elsewhere. I've posted 1 or 2 in the past that I've got from another site, but I've always either given credit to the original poster, or at least state that I did not originally find it and host it. Usually enough time has past that I know I wouldn't be stealing the guy's thunder. But I would never just copy someone's work off of a page and just post it. That's just wrong on so many levels. Just curious on your guy's thoughts about that. Granted we all probably have enough material to never worry about doing that, but some posts do tend to cross over between forums.

The whole point of this post in the begining was just to make a point. Doing shady buisness will almost always be found out. Almost all of the stuff on here is content from somewhere else. If you get something from somewhere and don't take the time to even repackage it at least give credit to where it came from and send them some new folks possibly as well. I hope this helps make it a bit more understandable to what grounds I see things.

either that... or when you're using rapidshare, save the "remove" links they give you... if you find a file is being leeched, just delete and re-upload it...

or before you upload a file... say it's name is: "Betty_Masturbating.avi"
change the file name to "Dumpstersluts.com_Betty_Masturbating.avi"

or an even better way would be to change the file extension, and post what the real extension should be changed back to in your original post...
"Betty_Masturbating.avi" could be changed to "Betty_Masturbating.dontleech" before uploading, then give instructions in your post to change it back to ".avi" before attempting to view...
this would no doubt be confusing to leechers and especially to the people who DL from the leechers

well if you want to password something the easiest way is to make an archive with Winrar and then go to the advanced tab and click set password.

Ok, I've been giving this some thought and I have been warned about thinking to much so correct me if I'm wrong.
If we borrow something of interest from another site site we should give thanks and directions to that site. That seems fair enough but, I would have thought that could put this other site at risk.
I have seen somewhere along this thread that pretty much everything in these forums has been leeched from some place at sometime unless original work was maybe bought or made and then this person had the generous idea to share.
As long as it's repackaged so at least some work has gone into the post then would not a simple thanks to the original uploader / finder not be more beneficial to all.
For example, I posted something the other day a pal had mailed me. This pal also has a look in here from time to time and has seen the new layout and has said he didn't mind me posting it but dont make any reference as to where he got it in case there is trouble a brewing for these sort of sites. He has also read this thread and still feels the same.
Would the powers that be give an opinion as to what I am saying.

I see at what you're getting at. If you are just "passing on" pics & links to something good, then give credit to the poster. For me, if I know the person well enough, I'll say "credit to such n such...." or just simply put "credit to the original poster". That way, people know that you are just passing it on and making sure the forum(s) you visit, get to enjoy it too. There's even times where I'll re-up everything, but still give credit to the original poster. It's a means of respect. Had they not posted it first, you and others would not be able to enjoy it.
But, then there's a lot of material that I personally get from main sites, spend the time uploading, and then posting for everyone's enjoyment. It's rare if I post a "passing on" thread, but I do make sure to thank the people for their hard work.
That's just my general rules of operation, "Honor among thieves" as Doc put it so elegantly.
