.wmv files

Hello, not sure if this relevant to here or not but hope you can help.

Rapidshare works fine for me unless the file is a .wmv then it tries to open and play it in explorer and always fails.

Does anyone have any suggestions ?

try right-click, 'Save target as'?

Do you have windows media player on your computer as that is what .wmv plays in.

right click and then save as should fix it. i know there's a way to change the default program for opening up .wmv files or any files for that matter but i don't remember how to do it. let me play around with some things on my machine and see if i can figure it out. if i can't i'm sure blackhawk will be able to help you out.

oh and what operating system are you running? XP, 98, etc.?

ok if you have xp and you have a .wmv file on your hard drive you can right click on it, select properties and here where it says open with:

click on the change button and then select whatever program you want to open it which for most people would be windows media player.

or you can right click on it, go to opens with, choose program and select the program from there and then check always use the selected program to open this type of file.


however if that doesn't fix the problem than it's a setting in internet explorer (which it probably is) and i don't know IE that well so i can't really help ya there.

I ahd that same prob for awhile. I change the setting in Internet options and that seem to fix it
